Navy veteran here with 20 years piloting military helicopters, plus over 20 years flying medical helicopters, 6000+ flight time, NVG instructor with over 800 NVG time. What is obvious to me is that anyone can have an opinion, no matter how ill informed it may be. No one knows yet why the accident happened, and it will probably be 6-12 months before the NTSB odors a final report, and even then there may not be a clear determination.

Maybe CAPT Lobach’s family scrubbed her social media and their own because they realized that thoughtless, clueless morons like some on this thread would gleefully trash her reputation online, without any knowledge of the facts. The truth is, even the best pilots sometimes make mistakes; sometimes they’re lucky enough to survive and learn from them, sometimes they’re not. No one knows if DEI had anything to do with this accident, even the President, and certainly no one on this thread.

Captain Lobach graduated with a biology degree. Lobach’s parents are both physicians (her father apparently works at Duke University). In addition, there is allegedly a tie-in between one or both parents and COVID-19 research/vaccines.

It's difficult to understand how she allegedly had no deployments but was deemed ready to serve as an escort for VIPs, such as Ralph Lauren when he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award from President Biden. She also worked as a "social" staffer for the Biden admin.

Although she was among the top 20% of ROTC cadets, per reports, it would appear she was put in a position to train other pilots after relatively few flight hours herself. This is suggestive of "not what you do but who you know".
