The military did not and will not arrest Judge Boasberg because he hasn’t broken any laws.
He has simply ruled that the Trump admin must FOLLOW the law.

If someone is caught in the very act of crossing the border, they are subject to immediate turnback. There’s a legal mechanism to do that. No one has to “figure that shit out later.”
But once someone is dwelling here illegally, they must be arrested and brought before an immigration judge who hears their case. These aren’t jury trials and they rarely take more than an hour.
The judge hears the immigrant’s testimony, determines if criteria for granting asylum are met, and decides if deportation is appropriate.
I’m not in favor of open borders nor has the US ever had a completely open border at any time in the past century. The US routinely deports millions of people yearly. Obama and Biden both deported more people than Trump has.
So why is Trump having so much trouble deporting people? Because he’s deliberately breaking the law.
Trump has authorized ICE to do public raids on immigrants already living in the US. They wear full masks so they can’t be identified when they break the law by grabbing people who “look like” illegal immigrants but may not be.
Why isn’t Trump just following the same rules Obama and Biden used? If more personnel are needed, Trump can easily hire them.

The vast majority of immigrants don’t get endless court hearings and judicial stays. Some cases are complicated but they’re in the minority.

Solving the problem of visa overstays also requires funding the immigration service to modernize their computer systems.
If we can put astronauts on the moon, we should be able to track visa holders.
Neither the GOP nor the Dems have passed any significant immigration reform bill since 1960s.
Biden championed a comprehensive bill that was introduced by a Republican to better fund the immigration service and make it efficient.
It passed the Senate but Trump (who was running for re-election) told Speaker Johnson to quash it in the House because Trump needed to condemn our immigration system during his campaign.

Most immigration cases do not require, and traditionally do not receive, judicial involvement. The exceptions are where there has been some prior permission to be in the country temporarily, or as a final step after serving time for criminal behavior, if the deported requests it.

But the judiciary hasn’t let Trump break the law. They’ve called him on ignoring the due process our Constitution stipulates for every person in America. They’ve stopped him.

I’ll respond point by point. Trump isn’t enforcing any laws that weren’t already being enforced at the border. And he’s breaking many laws with his ICE raids away from the border.
He certainly hates immigrants but he doesn’t really want to deport them all. He needs them as scapegoats. Who else can he falsely blame for wage stagnation and crime?
He needs to depict immigrants as enemies of America in order to gin up his base. Illegal immigrants are a small minority with little to no access to legal aid. They can’t fight back. They’re ideal scapegoats.
Illegal immigration increases in desperate times like the pandemic. It’s cyclic and it’s happened many times before. The post-pandemic surge in immigration occurred because people were fleeing terrible political and economic conditions in their native countries.
No one walks thousands of miles and gives all their money to coyotes unless they’re desperate for work and peace.
The vast majority of immigrants don’t get endless court hearings and judicial stays. Some cases are complicated but they’re in the minority.

Illegal immigrants don’t increase rents either. They live crowded together in the lowest income housing possible.
Illegals do NOT consume more in taxes than they put in. They pay taxes via automatic payroll deductions, sales tax, and property taxes. Roughly 40% pay income tax voluntarily both to avoid penalties and to work towards citizenship.
Illegal immigrants get NOTHING in return for taxes. Contrary to MAGA hysteria, they get NO federal benefits other than emergency medical care. They pay into Social Security but get nothing back unless they become citizens.
That’s federal law. The only exceptions to that are small pilot programs run by cities or states.
Illegal immigrants don’t avoid reporting crime — they avoid committing crime. Getting arrested is the last thing an illegal immigrant wants. This has been true for decades.
Biden’s program flew in immigrants who had applied for asylum from outside the country and had been granted it. They were vetted before arriving. NONE of them entered illegally.
The purpose of that program was to screen immigrants in advance as well as decrease the backlog at ports of entry. It was an intelligent solution for both asylum seekers and our crowded border posts.

Removing a judge, who’s not following the law is not bad for our country it is good for our country . The rule of law. Without it, what are we?
Removing a judge occurs via impeachment. That’s a civil matter. It can be done for purely ethical reasons or for crimes committed. You can’t impeach a judge simply because you don’t agree with their rulings.
Imprisonment of a judge only occurs if there’s a subsequent criminal indictment, trial, and conviction.
Judge Boasberg has done nothing more than his job. He ruled as he saw fit and many Americans agree with his judgment.
If the plaintiff or defendant (in this case, the Trump admin) doesn’t agree with the judge’s ruling, the next step is to appeal the ruling.
Appealing a ruling is ALWAYS the next step. Calling for the judge to be impeached or jailed is NEVER appropriate under our system of laws.

An impeachment is an investigation by the HOR. Then a trial by the Senate if the HOR finds grounds for removal from office. It is not a criminal trial.

They also pay sales taxes and property taxes. They contribute a great deal to our economy and get nothing in return unless they become citizens.
Solving the problem of visa overstays also requires funding the immigration service to modernize their computer systems.
If we can put astronauts on the moon, we should be able to track visa holders.
Neither the GOP nor the Dems have passed any significant immigration reform bill since 1960s.
Biden championed a comprehensive bill that was introduced by a Republican to better fund the immigration service and make it efficient.
It passed the Senate but Trump (who was running for re-election) told Speaker Johnson to quash it in the House because Trump needed to condemn our immigration system during his campaign.
Why hasn’t Trump re-introduced that bill now that he’s president? That’s a very good question.

Most immigration cases do not require, and traditionally do not receive, judicial involvement. The exceptions are where there has been some prior permission to be in the country temporarily, or as a final step after serving time for criminal behavior, if the deported requests it.
